ARB WIND Awarded Vestas Statutory Inspection Construction Work

ARB WIND has commenced works for pre and post-assembly statutory inspections of 15 Wind Turbine Generators (WTG’s) for the Sneddon Law project in the UK.

The 30MW Wind Farm, Sneddon Law, is being developed by Community Windpower in East Ayrshire and, once complete, will generate enough electricity to power approximately 29,600 homes.

Sneddon Law is the 5th construction site ARB has supported Vestas with in the past 2 years with others including: West Benhar (30.1MW), Dalquhandy (42MW), Sandy Knowe 2 (48MW) and Windy Rig (43MW).

ARB WIND’s scope includes pre-assembly inspections and testing as the components arrive at the port and site. Initial inspections at this stage are vital to ensure that assets, such as the main ladder and fall arrest systems, are safe for use prior to construction.

The Scope of work for post assembly, once the Wind Turbines are erected, will see ARB WIND carry out the statutory inspections and reporting on all systems including service lifts, nacelle cranes, fall arrest systems, tower ladders, accumulators and anchor points.
